Bright pink set against dark grey striped silk scarf. A gorgeous handmade women's silk scarf - two different weaves combined to give a classic striped design scarf.

Made from 100% organic silk, handmade in Laos. Silk a soft, versatile and luxurious fabric - very warm and breathable, making it ideal for all seasons. Silk is one of the strongest natural fibres, and is hypoallergenic.

Handloom silk weaving produces a fabric that is individual and personal in nature, and slight variations will occur.

handmade silk scarves from Laos

This silk scarf has been handmade in a small family business in Vientiane Province, run by Siorn and her husband. Siorn is originally from Sam Neua in North Eastern Laos, a region with an exceptionally strong heritage of silk production and traditional Lao textiles.

Siorn plans to establish a second weaving centre in Sam Neua Province, providing a much needed source of training and skilled employment in an area still dominated by subsistence farming.
